It sounds as if the next step for Nohe's Nutjobs will be to take up arms against the federal government. Timothy McVeigh would have loved these folks.

I only hope when the economy collapses you have a way to protect yourself from home invasions that area increasing all over the country. Oh, wait, you think the government is good and will take care of you. Maybe you can get free stuff from the government too at the expense of those who work. Maybe a drone will protect you against all of us crazy gun nuts.

Thank you Mr.Nohe for standing up for the people's rights. It's very enlighting to actually see one stand up for the very reason he took the position for. Wish I could say the same for other government officials, including the WHITE HOUSE!!!

as usual, nohe is grandstanding. a lower level entity CANNOT over ride a law from a higher level. in this case federal law WILL trump any state law with which there is a conflict. so this is much ado about nothing. what people need to be watching is not the for sure progress to limit 2d amendment rights but also the attempt to track the purchase of ammo. this will allow the feds to find those unregistered weapons of any type out there now. the next issue we should be watching is the attempts to get doctors' and teachers, etc to ask about weapons in a home. this will also allow the locating of weapons that may be out there and unregisterd. big brother is on the move and the ones that people need to contact are caputo, manchin and mckinley. rahal and rockefeller are going to back obama/ liberals.

Oh yes teflon, I'm sure those who have unregistered weapons are going to make sure their family tell their doctor's and teacher's that they have them!

Excuse me Mr. Teflon, but that would make us a dictatorship if an independant State's Law could be smacked down by Federal Law. That is why we have "Nation States", and is the reason why different States have different Laws! Though, Federal Government will likely try to "flex" on States to make them think they have no say, when in-fact, they have ALL the say.

I agree that they will try to track you though, and that is why we MUST preserve our FIRST and FOURTH Amendmants! Our right to free speech on the subject and our rigt to PRIVACY (4th).

No person should have the right to surveil me because I own a Gun. AMERICA WAS FOUNDED BY OWNING GUNS AND THROWING BRITISH OVERLORDS OUT ON THEIR JOLLY FANNY!

You know Henry Wescott...if that ever actually happens, we will be armed to protect ourselves because of a little thing called the 2nd amendment. No one is trying to take everyone's guns. They are just trying to limit the amount of semi-automatic weapons floating around in the hands of private citizens. Obama is not "coming to take your guns" lol

Technically, BrandonSW, we don't have 50 "nation states", only one.

Texas was a nation state, but gave it up to join the Union.

Whether the original 13 colonies became nation states after the Revolution is arguable, they probably were. They gave up being real sovereign states when they ratified the Constitution. States are something between a sovereign state & a province.

Which leaves it a little unclear which level of government can do what. We have one side in this discussion saying the U.S. Constitution applies, but the Federal government is powerless. I don't think that makes sense, but it gets even less clear.

I think SB 420 over-reaches, but a legal argument can be mounted either way. It may go to court. Oh yeah, that's Federal court.

Not all of these new rules are because of the crazies. The UN is determined to dis-arm America. Don't let them people. We are the only country that stands a chance of rebelling against a One World Order. So dis-arming us makes sense from their point of view. Dont't do it people.

Today's Charleston Gazette has an excellent editorial on the subject of individual states attempting to pass legislation to declare federal gun laws unenforceable. It's on page 4A and is appropriately entitled 'Crazy'.

If the far-left gun haters get their way and all Hades breaks loose, they had better find someone other than me to hide behind.I'm sick of the anti-gun idiots concentrating non the wrong end of the gun. We need to keep guns from mentally mill people and criminals, but all the legislation you can write will do little except hurt people who obey the laws in the first place.
