Everyday, it seems as if there is another robbery, burglary, or drug bust. I believe the police are doing all they can.

As citizens, we probably should all become more aware of our surroundings, like my friend, Phil, has always told me. I guess you just never know.

I think the People's News robber came in the unlocked backdoor. Since the back of that building is off the alley it isn't as visible as the front. The guy who robbed Clark's must be a regular customer to know the clerks name. I guess he must have been too afraid to try to rob the lottery joint next door.

The Parkersburg in which I grew up was different than today. Of course I grew up in the late 1940s,1950s and the first few years of the 1960s. Those were days when there was a 2 parent family(single pregnant girls were hidden and shunned),prayers in schools(we were a God felt society),respect for elders, disciplined by our elders(including teachers),no delinquent crime(with the exception of smoking behind our parents backs),and eager to get an education.

Yeah when I was growing up in Parkersburg this sort of thing never happened. This is unbelievable, I lived two blocks from there and as a kid I would walk home at night by myself from friends houses.

Crime seems to be escalating in this town for sure. I think the brazen nature of these robberies is what gets me. This gas station is at a very busy intersection. Peoples is in a strip of other stores. They don't even worry about being seen.
