Why hasn't anyone, e.g., maintenance and grounds supervision, athletic directors, coaches, been paying attention to the ongoing deterioration of this stadium? Why did this suddenly become a problem?

@ wildcitykitty. You check your facts. There were plenty of northenders that helped too. Me being one of them both financially and physically that helped. I'm pretty sure that mr Erickson also didn't live on the south side. Let your high school drama days go and put the community first.

Wildcitykitty needs to get off her soapbox and stop whining like a baby every time this subject comes up. Poor south. Get over yourself already. Nobody cares!

Only 75% of our students will graduate with their class but you sure don't see any special meetings being held about it.

I have never seen such jealousy on display from the community. When will we get rid of the little brother complex from the South side? South has made great strides and many accomplishments of which they should be very proud. This is a community issue and not a North vs South issue. I am not for spending 2 million on a temporary fix. This likely will become a bond issue which will benefit all of the wood co schools in some way or another. Until then I think the answer is demolition and some temporary seating until it can be addressed correctly.

Why can't those 90 plus events be held at South's Stadium? That way, the schools are still getting the money and the events go on??

It would be fair for the school board to pay to have the site cleared, but not one penny of public funds should be offered to pay for a new one. PHS sports fans should be willing to raise their own funds to pay for a new one, or stand along a fence like they did for years. If the school board goes any further into this matter, a law suit should be filed against them to halt and reverse their action.

Sue Woodward, assistant superintendent, said those needs include roof repairs, an unfinished sprinkler system, gym floor at Criss Elementary School, foundation issues (due to erosion) at Edison Middle School, and the need for a new elementary school in Williamstown. These alone ought to put the sports question to rest for now. If so many groups are so worried, let THEM go out and hustle for funds since in reality this just benefits the sporties and not the general body.
