The bike advisory board should be able to comment on the city's plan but should be given a firm deadline to do so. They ride more often and know what is best.

Glad to see the mayor put his foot down for safety. These bumbling cyclists get their way far too often. it is already too dangerous that motorists have lost the lane on Juliana ST. to them.

That had to be one of the dumbest ideas EVER on Juliana Street..right after that 4-way stop sign. I've seen motorists racing their cars up Juliana street in the far right land so they can cut in at the last minute. There's an elementary school right there and I would hate to see an accident.

That bike lane on Juliana is a dangerous mistake. If the bikers can ride on the sidewalk on the lower part of Juliana, why can't they do the same on the upper part? Hundreds of drivers are being inconvenienced daily but there won't be a hundred bicyclists traveling on Juliana in a year. It's not as attractive as some believe.

I must agree Geezer. Even-though we don't on much. I am just glad that I no longer have to deal with it.

The city hasn't done enough for cyclists. And forcing them to use these beat up sidewalks is a joke.

This whole idea is a joke! There are so many important issues that should be addressed before a bike trail on Juilina St, especially when it dead ends on 13th. Just junk up the city with more signs and look over the drugs, gangs and grafitti...just sayin

Sometimes I go through Marietta/ Williamstown to avoid downtown P-burg's CF & poor traffic patterns. Of course I end up patronizing Marietta/ Williamstown businesses because they are on my way.

Bike riding on the sidewalk is front page news? I honestly could not read the whole article it was so boring. But it must be big news, look at how many people comment on the article.

Wildcitykitty has an opinion on just about every article every day and more often than not the majority of people click the disapprove button on his comments. Most are so outlandish they cannot be real thoughts of a rational person, but that's ok, I see this comment section as entertainment and wild kitty entertains me, thanks!

Slingblade, there is nothing "entertainment" about some mental loser who is the worst possible example and representation of this area. I think it might actually be bad enough to have him committed as a public nuisance and detriment to the areas reputation.

Sounds like a lot of curb hopping to me, the main reason I wouldn't want to ride on sidewalks. Besides, most sidewalks are more like a funhouse feature than walkways. Think I would just stay off Juliana St.

Off topic question:Does anyone know if the city is ever going to install bench seating at point park? Seems silly to me how they opened the place up and there are no benches there like there used to be.

You've completely ruined this forum. It's not credible. People can't discuss anything here without YOU turning it into a three ring circus.....and I think the issue is really about the PN&S how this looks to a wider audience. I was serious, time for an all out brainstorm down there to throttle you down once and for all....****e on Webmaster ???
