no denver i do not believe a "right wing" group you obviously didnt read my entire post as i said i heve no political leanings or offiliations. i did something called research, not sure if you have heard of it. i directed you to their site only because they have links to the department of defense records that shows he did not accurately portray the truth. and yes i have 1 purple heart and i treasure it right next to my bronze star thank you very much

Denver this is the second time you have asked the question " how many Purple Hearts do you have". I think it's best if you stay away from that question first of all because its disrespectful and second seeing that your a supporter of Kerry you should know that his Purple Hearts are very questionable to say the least!

Guy007, were you there? Did you witness atrocities that Kerry testified to? Did you commit atrocities? Why didn't you stop them if you witnessed them?

MadAsHeck, did you serve in Vietnam where you were always witness to the atrocities and veteran indignation that senator Kerry truthfully speaks?

And the disrespect for Vietnam veterans still goes on today!

You were right "Tassie" "people who attack his military service should be ashamed."

Kerry LIED about supposed atrocities that he claimed US soldiers committed in Vietnam. He's a despicable human being.

So "Valhalla" your saying that you believe a "right wing" political group formed for the purpose of opposing John Kerry's candidacy for the presidency over Vietnam veterans who served alongside Kerry or under his command?

Swift Vets and POWs for Truth, formerly known as the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (SBVT), was a political group (527 group) of United States Swift boat veterans and former prisoners of war of the Vietnam War, formed during the 2004 presidential election campaign for the purpose of opposing John Kerry's candidacy for the presidency.

SBVT asserted that Kerry was "unfit to serve" as President based upon his alleged "willful distortion of the conduct" of American servicemen during that war, and his alleged "withholding and/or distortion of material facts" as to his own conduct during that war."This claim caused tremendous controversy during the election, particularly because these veterans, {most of whom had not been in a place to assess Kerry}, challenged the legitimacy of each of the combat medals awarded to Kerry" even though most of the {"Vietnam veterans who served alongside Kerry or under his command disputed the criticisms and support

no thanks necessary Denver, and to answer your question John Kerry claimed to have awards he didnt earn, if you google "swift boat veterans" you will find their sight where they document it. in the interest of disclosure i am neither a democrat nor a republican i have no political affiliation, i was as mad about George W. Bush taking a pass when he could have served in Vietnam as well

Well said Tassie!

I wonder if Rush Limbaugh, Hank William Jr, and Ted Nugent volunteered to serve in Vietnam?

you say I should be ashamed? i beg to differ with you. John Kerry should be ashamed. I feel I have earned the right to call it how I see it, and the fact remains he lied about his service. dont fool yourself he knew military looks good on a resumee when you run for office this is his reason for "volunteering" not a selfless motive to serve his country

There are valid complaints against John Kerry, but you people who attack his military service should be ashamed. Complain about what he did after the war, but he volunteered to serve in Vietnam and then volunteered to be a Swift Boat captain.

one of the worst offenses to those of us who served in uniform and were in combat is wearing or claiming awards and medals you didnt earn. when this is done it is a slap in the face to every one of us who went through the trials of combat. in full disclosure i will list my awards but only once: army achievement medal(5 times), army commendation medal(3 times) distinguished service medal, bronze star, purple heart. to add any i did not receive would be unbearable to me and it is also a felony level offense under the uniform code of military justice. this alone should be enough to have Sen. Kerry serving in the gray bar inn but when you have the money and the right family even an affront to us veterans is tollerated. disgusting
