A Manchin-Huntsman ticket?

January 28, 2013

The question now is whether Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., is thinking along the same lines as an Associated Press reporter in New York City. Earlier this month, Manchin and former Utah Gov....

Jon Huntsman is the lone sane person in the republican party, and they ignore him!

This has to be the funniest article I've seen in the News-Sentinel. Concern trolling at its best. The fact of the matter is that Manchin has ZERO chance of winning a Democratic nominating contest. He is FAR to the right of the Democratic party's core supporters. Yeah, WV may love him. But Iowa and NH Dems would laugh him off the stage.

Huntsman actually had the most conservative fiscal record of all the GOP candidates. The extreme fringes wrote him off as a progressive in the primaries because he believes in climate change and said Romney should distance himself from Aiken and Mourdock after their inflammatory comments. The GOP will never capture the battleground states (or the election) if they stay on the fringes.

Bob4683-Yes the man you are supporting did horrific damage to WVU and their reputation by promoting this lie! The school lost millions of dollars and support from alumni who thought what he did was a disgrace.

No Labels is a joke. They are a "progressive" group financed by progressives and hiding behind "no labels" masks.

Manchin is yes man to Obama and the DNC, he puts on a show to try and keep his conservative Democrat voters on his side back here in WV, but at heart he only wants to please his Democrat masters. Huntsman is a progressive in an RNC T-Shirt.

Wasn't aware of Manchin's daughter and WVU in the other comment and I also think a Dem-Repub ticket would hit a lot of snags in this polarized political environment, but attended the No Labels NYC conference and believe these two guys would be an effective team and that they will help make the political process more productive as co-chairs of No Labels.

Horrible Idea! The bottom line is,the scandal in which Manchin knowingly helped his daughter lie about getting a degree from WVU will haunt him for the rest of his political career. The fact that he thought he could actually puyll this whopper off and that no one would ever discover their bold faced lie shows what a poor choice he would be. The press would reopen this case and no one would trust him. If Manchin has fessed up, come clean and his daughter had actually gone back to WVU and finished her degree this would be a done deal. But since none of that happened-his chances of being president are a joke. Plus the horrible way he helped sweep the Sago Mine Disaster under the rug and never followed through on his promises to change mining laws and safety regulations are going to sink his presedential ship before it even sets sail. The people in WV may have conveniently gone into denile over Manchin's wrong doings-but the rest of the world hasen't.
