It would seem the simple solution would be just to change back and avoid this mess. If they really changed the meetings to allow for one Commissioner to live more time in Florida, then he should resign. The citizens are the ones who seem to be on the loosing side of all of this.

"Whether the county commission's {new leadership} understands it or not, the commission cannot take action in an improper, secret manner." Who is the new member?

Politicians are getting bolder about usurping their power from the top down! Theses little kings must be made to follow the law!

If this in fact happened as Mr. Smith reports, then he should contact the WV Ethics Commission. That is what they are for.

Denver I guess they mean changed President. If it wasn't broken why fix it. They should just return to the way it was and leave well enough alone, and quit listening to those trying to control them

Still, he's been a county commissioner for how many years now? Does he not know the rules by now?

Unfortunately the Commission is not the only one not following the law. I hope that Mr. Smith has taken notice of recent pay increases Mr. Tranquill tax department head has bestowed on himself and family members numbering into the thousands of dollars. This is outrageous suggesting nothing more than corrupt politics, will the PN&S uphold taking money from other employee’s to line the pockets of political supporters.

J. Smith: You sound like a whiney little school child. You could have got to the point with fewer words instead of rambling on bashing the Commission like you would an old appliance with a hammer. What I got out of that story is that you are a Harry Dietzler fan and you want to make it known when they slip up. Well J. Smith I am I like Harry too, but what I don't like about him is that he knows that the "Brine Water" sludge from injection wells is bad, but he will not do anything about it until it equals money in his pocket in a few years. I keep that on the back of my mind when I think about voting for him. So J. Smith, please keep this commentary in your file for a few years then review accuracy.

I sure hope the courts find this illegal and rights this wrong, if not those lining their pockets of the sweat of others may find themselves in a similar situation when there is a new sheriff in town.

First of all, "tabledoc" can't spell. The word is "losing". "loosing" is not even a word.

Second of all, who cares how many times they meet? I don't attend the meetings, anyway, and as long as they get their work done, does it really matter?

"They" don't care what any of you posting here think. The people sitting on the Commission and School Board do not care. They know they can get their way, and nothing will happen to them. Sorry, but that's the simple fact.

Seen an article in the PN&S about the Veteran's Museum soliciting the commission for monies to expand ... is that what Mr. Smith is complaining about here? Surely not.
