I did not move to Charleston until I left my position at Georgetown University in D.C. I left Parkersburg shortly after graduating from PHS in 1960.

School days were never cancelled in Parkersburg,even during the great snow storm of 1950!!! Goes to show you that today's society is not as sturdy and responsible as it was in my day.

What about cancelling work! Come on now what happened to years ago where kids were forced to attend on snowy days. Cancelling for a few inches is ridiculous. Get chains on the buses!
