Things could get real slippery at the airport now that Jay Rockefeller is retiring. Jay was one of the top protectors of the Essential Air Service program (EAS) which provides subsidies to airports operating in rural areas. This program provides $2,642,237 annually to Silver Airways/United Express to subsidize travel through the MOV airport. Although it is unlikely that Barack Obama would cancel a program like this he just might trade it for another one since few of his supporters are located in areas served by the program.
