It's ok WVUgirl: he is so angry about this subject, but does not have the courage to take any further than these message boards. Those of us on the front lines know what progress has been made to help the right of others, we cannot stop due to the biased anger of people who cannot grasp what is right.

AaronL you can call me a fat cow all you like, I really couldn't possibly care less about your lame attempts at insulting me. If you had half the knowledge you claim then you'd know that resulting to name calling doesn't help your cause when trying to make your point. But then again when one knows their argument has no leg to stand on they usually do attack others that can articulate without making it personal, so carry on. You and hindsight101 are two peas in a pod of hate, and I feel pity for you both. So sad. Hope life gets better for you!

WVU can't understand normal thinking (capitalize everything after your hide name,THAT'S you), I'm FAR from your "pet" word of ignorant; seems to be you fat cows main calling card for anyone who does not agree that "special" kids ass should be kissed, while the little darlings get by with what YOU tolerate.Didn't read a post I wrote before,DID you? WVISB took care of the "special" problem I had,as they will master Richards when he gets there. Shame he has to go through that, when Dad and "stepmommy" should be the one cuffed to that pole in the basement receiving "Special" attention, then being in 6 cottage to finish the "special" training.And for you cattle that doesn't know; That was having your ass on the edge of the bench,reading,with arms out for two hours,them stripping,waxing,back to the bench,with book,then buffing to a mirror shine and the doing it all over again.Could YOU have done that? Punishment has it's virtues, l

Seems like this hindsight guy is carrying a lot of misdirected anger. Maybe mommy didn't hug him enough as a boy, so he's mad that other mommies stand up for their kids. It's ok little guy.....you don't have to pick on kids and their moms just because you*****at life.

@SWR you're absolutely right, he has no sog in this fight yet he's barking the loudest. Reminds me of a 2 year old throwing a tantrum. Well, no more attention for him from me, my time is better spent taking out the trash. Anyone that can read is well aware of his ignorance and delusions anyway :)

@WVUGurl: Do not fall into his trap, he wants you to argue. I ignore him because he is all over these boards trying to get under people's skin by saying mean things. He does not have a dog in this fight, he enjoys negative attention. He is right about one thing though, he has many names: 4thebetter, silverbullet etc. Banned many many many times.

Well it looks like hindsight101 has woken up from the alcohol-induced slumber and managed to find his way out of his moms basement! Your repeated reference to the checks that parents supposedly get because they have children with special needs is another of your generalizations that you're wrong about. I myself don't receive any check except the one I work almost 50 hours a week for, and I personally know several parents that don't either so shove it. As for your statement about the teacher not receiving any training to deal w/children w/special needs you're mistaken again as she previously worked w/special needs students, and it doesn't take "training" for a teacher to know not to put a student in a box or to remember to follow the IEP that the student has (that she was involved with creating!). You and AaronL both need to get over yourselves with your pompous, stereotypical, vile, and IGNORANT (yes AaronL that's what you both are) comments.

AaronL the fact if the matter is, mainstreaming children all into the same classroom setting is the law. I don't make the laws, I don't pass the laws, and sometimes I don't even agree with the laws but the powers that be say we all have to follow them. The IEPs are legal documents no less legal than a marriage certificate, divorce order, child custody order, or murder conviction and they are to be followed as such. The Code of Conduct states "students will help create an atmosphere free from bullying, intimidation, and harassment", and who is responsible for setting the example for the students?? Their teachers. This teacher didn't follow the IEP and when she was questioned about it she lied! Great example!

Your beliefs make tons of money from the sheeple who think because you sit your ass behind that desk they have to come to makes you right.I'm 49 GD years old,and may know a thing or two,more than thou. I'm STILL waiting on that call;bet it won't happen,because YOU have NEVER been there: Have you?I can tame wild animals through taking time and care,and you want to preach to me about people?"special" is the same designation as " Normal"; no one knows.

Sorrry SocialWorkrocks-but I have to wonder...as long as there are "specioal needs" kids, active drug addicts and unwed mothers you have a job. I have to wonder is all you talk about understanding and tolerance really hiding the fact that translated these people are your job security. Your profession created-and coddles and encourages these Frankenstein monsters and then unleash them on mainstream society.

Sorry, no need to debate my beliefs. That will change nothing in the world that you are so angry at. However, if you feel that you are correct then guide your debate to the state/national government which make the laws that you disagree so strongly with. I am happy when the people that I work with tell me that they are making the progress in the world they live in. Again: Healing thoughts sent to you!

Rock that one to the all you can eat buffet,cuss people like me ,who tell it like it is,and order a diet coke,thinking it will help. Oh,by the way,no hiding;

ArronL.: I am sorry to see such anger...I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I see so much when I work with the state that they are supporting the Person and plan according to their wants/needs. The parents and children I work with appreciate having their voices heard and people are allowed to choose their future, not have it dictated by someone who wants to decide for them. That is the right they want....and should have. Healing thoughts for you!

Cont: I found it rather disturbing when the box was used while I was present. I could have handled it if the child had been taken to a small, quiet room to calm down but the box and especially the mattresses upset me. Maybe these methods were based on research but as I've said, without proper training I was clueless.

Sorry if this was a little off topic and so long as this latest situation doesn't involve an aide. I just think the educational staff (teachers, aides, principals) should have specific training so they can handle special situations. The law doesn't give them a choice in placing students so they need to be prepared to handle any situation.

Cont: I have children of my own but that experience was of no use. People may say that with a teacher in the room that training wasn't important for an aide but many times I was solely responsible for students. I loved working with the students but it was too stressful without proper training.

Now, back to the box in the classroom. That reminds me of a classroom I was in at Franklin Elem. The special needs students with autism spent the morning in this room and then attended other classes in the afternoon. This classroom contained a large cardboard box and also two mattresses atop each other. This is the explanation the teacher gave me for their presence: sometimes the environment overstimulates an autistic child, placing the child in this close fitting box was supposed to help the child calm down. The mattresses were used in the same way and the child would be placed in between the two mattresses. Without the proper training I have no idea if this was the correct procedure.
