AEP wants help with storm costs: {Consumers react; average monthly fee around $3} American Electric Power is asking the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) to approve an additional monthly charge to customers' bills to help recoup money spent to recover from the costly June derecho.
That doesn't sound to me like PUCO officials are insisting that utility customers be served as economically as possible, without making political correctness part of the strategy.
