Regrettably MrAlex is correct.

Once at-risk student drops out of school the state should issue them a shovel, a mop, a broom and a life long supply of gloves. Because that's all tools they'll need for the rest of their life. That is unless we continue to provide benefits which reward them for doing nothing.

The comment that there are a lot more people these days who just do not want an education is simply not accurate. Post-secondary education is currently at an all-time high. However, new graduates are discovering that they have to go back to working the same types of dead-end jobs that they were working before but now they have student loan debts to pay as well as being four years behind those that kept working the dead-end jobs and didn't attend school.

I agree that college graduates are having a tough time but the mindset has really changed in the past 30 years with regard to government benefits.Getting disability is actually a lifetime goal for a significant number of our population.They actually take pride in "achieving it"

Why will nobody address the completely broken system? Why not address how our nations spends way more per student and gets way less? Why not address that it's almost impossible to get rid of horrible system employees and that it's almost impossible to discipline horrible trouble makers in the classrooms? The main trouble is not money, not time, it's the complete and total failure of the system to be able to correct the problems with the people (employees/teachers/students).
