Geezer.. don't forget those employees are tax payers too. Most county employees are paid less then the average worker. You are so worried about a dozen people getting and extra week. Why not worry about all the people on SSI who should be working, and not paying any taxes at all, this state is full of those people. Kudos to the commissioners for finally recognizing their employees.. now they need to look at those who have 30+ years.. they should get an extra week for that.

This is a good example of how 'out-of-touch' county commissioners, administrators, and employees have become. These folks enjoy benefits which are not available to the average citizen but the average citizen is the one being forced to provide them to county employees. County finances and operations have been adversely affected by nepotism, no-show jobs, excessive pay and benefits, and bloated pensions. Nearly every article about the commission includes a statement about dwindling revenues but the same articles nearly always mention some kind of additional financial benefit being supplied to the employees with little concern about the effect on the taxpayer.
