This was Newell's awkward way of giving those who dare disagree with him the finger. Hopefully the new members of council will be able to make decisions on their own based on what is really best for parkersburg. Saying "NO" to Newell when he is wrong is not a sign of weakness but a sign of doing what is right, something the "User Fee Five" didn't have the backbone to do.

For me at least, I want to see at least 3 or 4 of the things Bob Newell has been talking about come to fruition. Otherwise Bob isn't getting my vote when he is up for re-election.

There has been a lot of talk about Ft Boremen development, downtown businesses opening, Emerson Commons and rework of Park Shopping center. I want progress on all 4 of those.

If in 4 years we see Ft Boremen booming, businesses being created downtown, Park Shopping center's old Big Bear finally in use again and the Emerson Commons infrastructure upgraded to attract business, Bob will get my vote.

Hey Mayor Newell - What about the "silent minority" who have no voice in the election process? You know, the ones who work in your city, live outside your city, but pay your User Fee?

Amen, Diablo. The upcoming lawsuits, and the ones not yet filed will be more than enough to end this run of his. The silence will finally be broken and ALL of Parkersburg will see the evidence of the past 7 years. Soon........

Parkersburg is being left behind because few leaders and many citizens have no vision for the future. Too many old cranky people who will never be happy with any one or anything. Most of the young adults have to move away because there is nothing in Parkersburg for them...Change happens, but I guess not in Parkersburg.

For those of you unhappy with the progressive Mayor Newell, you can get happy again by getting the*****out of Parkersburg, and go elsewhere where the leader can appease your insatiable needs.

Guy007 - You may wish to check with Newell asking those who disagree with him to leave town. He relies on his so called "silent minority" to pay his user fee. As the town continues to go down hill around him, there will always be plenty of room for everyone.

So the town is going downhill and also never changes it. Got it. Just trying to keep up!

Didn't people decide what can happen in November and they stuck with Newell ? Either Tallman is the worst of the worst or Newell is making strides and it is being observed by the community.

Which one is it ?

I will agree on one thing. The vocal minority does seem to get a lot of attention in this country. Call it the tea party affect I guess. The old squeeky wheel gets the grease.

This guy they call Mayor sure has a bad attitude towards others and sure does not seem like he respects anyone with an opinion that is different than his. From what I have seen of this turkey, he likes to spend tax money pretty foolishly
