Westbrook adds new programs and services

February 20, 2008

PARKERSBURG — Westbrook Health Services has added new programs and services in the past year.

Westbrook Health Services is a comprehensive community behavioral health center serving 10 counties including Wood, Calhoun, Jackson, Pleasants, Tyler, Ritchie, Roane and Wirt counties in West Virginia and Washington and Meigs counties in Ohio. The administrative offices are located at 2121 Seventh St. in Parkersburg.

“One of the newer programs we have started is providing a liaison to Jackson, Roane and Calhoun counties with adolescents. We go into the schools and provide substance abuse information and individuals suffering from any type of addiction are getting referrals for treatment,” said Karen Schimmel, substance abuse outpatient director.

The center is now offering a 10-week anger management class that meets weekly.
