To the opening of the new Blennerhassett Bridge, scheduled for the evening of June 13. The bridge is the last remaining piece of the U.S. 50 Corridor D project and has been under construction for three years. It is hoped the new road and bridge will be a road to economic development for the Mid-Ohio Valley.

To the Wood County Board of Education for unanimously approving a motion to name two new Parkersburg High School facilities after residents Jack Stephens and Edwin Dils. The new PHS auxiliary gymnasium will bear the name The Jack Stephens Auxiliary Gymnasium, while the school’s new conference room will be known as The Edwin Dils Conference Room. This is a fitting tribute to two longtime supporters of the school.
