Mountwood Park is hosting an ice cream social and lawn games from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at the park located along U.S. 50, about 12 miles east of Parkersburg.

The cost is $3 for adults and $1 for children ages 12 and under. For more information, call (304) 679-3611.

The event will feature music, games, bingo, croquet, goofy golf and horseshoes along with all-you-can-eat ice cream. Visitors are urged to bring lawn chairs and can bring a picnic lunch or enjoy a grilled hot dog and chips provided by the park.
