Local events

A children's art event will be held in February at First Baptist Church in downtown Parkersburg.

The third annual Celebration of the Arts Recital is 3 p.m. Feb. 24 at First Baptist Church. It will feature the best young musicians and artists from grades 7-12 in the Mid-Ohio Valley, including students from Marietta, Parkersburg, Parkersburg South, St. Marys, Warren and Williamstown schools. The student art gallery may be viewed during the reception following the recital.
