| | "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"August 23, 2011 - Jim SmithBack in the days of Italian westerns when Clint Eastwood was a roving gunfighter in search of a role that would get him into the A list of Hollywood movies, he had a film called "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly." While the movie was far too long and far too short on plot, the title was exactly how I felt Sunday and Monday. "The Good" was I knew whatever had invaded my system and taken control, leaving me feeling "Bad" beyond belief and resulting in some "Ugly" side effects would not stay long. Although, I wish it had fled long before it did. I put a message on Facebook about being sick, and several friends tried to cheer me up and even my doctor messaged me, suggesting he had heard of people out there who could help me. I laughed and was tempted to accuse him of trying to drum up business, but I was fearful some people might take it wrong instead of as pulled the doc's leg. So Tuesday morning I got up, fed the three cats we have on loan from our daughter and her husband until Christmas, lumbered to the bathroom to take my blood-glucose level (which was back to normal after two days of being very high due to being sick), shave, shower and get ready for work, got dressed and decided while I seemed to feel a lot better, I had no energy and no strength to walk around the house, out to the car, into the office or around the office doing the housekeeping duties I do every morning. So, here I am, back at the office and if you call me over the next few days don't expect any energetic responses. Sorry, I need to get the strength back before I can banter. I do know, whatever I had I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy! Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
