| | Cure worse than afflictionJune 29, 2011 - Jim SmithSome things just seem so illogical as to be humorous. Recently my wife started feeling very dizzy and finally opted to seek medical advice. Besides having water on the ear, the medical expert could find nothing else wrong and immediately ordered blood work, which also came back normal (although it amazes me how anyone living with me could ever be normal). The "expert" then opted to prescribe a pill that supposedly would help the dizziness. But the warning label clearly stated one of the side effects of the pill was "it could cause dizziness" .... and it did! Giving a dizzy person a pill that causes dizziness is about as useful as giving a diabetic a pull that causes a rise in blood glucose levels or a person with high blood pressure a pill that rises it farther. Sometimes the cure is beyond reason. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
