Book Series Becomes TV Series

July 8, 2010 - Amy Phelps

Something I neglected to mention in my last column that I meant to add, TNT is premiering a new television series on Monday, Rizzoli and Isles, starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander. It is based on Tess Gerritsen's series. A link follows for more information about the show.

While we're on the subject of book series becoming television series, AMC is set to premiere "The Walking Dead" this fall, based on the popular comic book series by Robert Kirkman, about a group of people trying to survive after most of the world becomes zombies. There's a link to their website too, but fair warning, the zombie pictures are pretty gross. I will probably watch, and probably have terrible nightmares.

Also, HBO's True Blood, based on Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series, got an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama.

Any other good television series based on a popular book series I should be watching?
