Cookbook publishes Nov. 22

October 29, 2009 - Jim Smith
Wow! If there ever was a time for my blood-sugar level to be justified as going out of control, it was yesterday at the News and Sentinel Cookbook Contest judging.

The food was superb, and the desserts, which I know I should never eat, were out of this world! I fully expected my blood-sugar meter to read "No More, Please! after the sampling.

There is no doubt the Mid-Ohio Valley has cooks who could put any big city 4-star restaurant to shame.

Granted, my favorites and the judges' favorities did not necessarily jive, but I'm just a meat-and-potatoes-type guy who loves spicy Cajun foods, breads and cheese cake. Ain't nothing fancy about my foods of choice ... just ask my wife who knows I'd be happy eating broasted chicken six times a week.

The winners in the various categories deserve a lot of credit and were listed in Thursday's newspaper.

The grand prize winner will be announced in the cookbook edition to appear in the Sunday edition of The News and Sentinel on Nov. 22.

If you want a good read (or diet-breaking delights) get the Nov. 22 News and Sentinel and get ready to feast away for Thanksgiving..
