Forget Me Knot by Sue Margolis
July 20, 2009 - Amy Phelps
A flower shop owner finds and loses romance in this bright book, "Forget Me Knot" by Sue Margolis.
Abby Crompton has a nice life - owning her own shop, dishing with her best friend, Soph, and employee and friend Marty. She has a wealthy fiance, Toby, whose work as a lawyer keeps him extremely busy, but Abby keeps hoping that he'll take some time off to be with her, finally. On the way to a meeting with his mother, Abby ends up stuck in an elevator and meets the charming Dan, who helps her get through the ordeal with the help of a bottle of wine. By the time she leaves the elevator, Abby is late and has revealed one too many personal details to Dan, including her lack of a love life with Toby.
Abby's beginning to have her suspicions of Toby, and her friends are beginning to confirm them as well. Just when Abby confronts Toby and discovers he does, indeed, have another person in his life, she also sees Dan again - he is directing a movie that is going to use her flower shop as a set! Abby and Dan begin dating and her friends also discover loves of their own. But is Dan's flash lifestyle going to lead him away from Abby?
This is a light romance that would be a perfect beach read, with a warm heroine. Abby overcomes her obstacles with a healthy amount of pluck and a sense of humor. "Forget Me Knot" is published by Bantam. It is $15 and is 383 pages long.
