Who's the worst?

February 12, 2009 - Jody Murphy
Here's a quickie: Which of these is most brazen? The Merrill Lynch corporate honchos who secretly doled out $3.6 Billion (BILLION!) in bonuses while in the midst of government bailout. Four company executives alone got $121 million.
How about the peanut butter company owner who refused to testify before Congress? You know, the guy who kept on selling salmonella-tainted peanut butter after the company was notified of the problem. He invoked his consitutional rights before Congress earlier this week.
The there are the beloved W.Va teachers unions, who despite nation's financial crisis continue to demand more money from state and local officials.
While Gov. Joe Manchin politely addressed the issue in last night's State of the State - saying there would be no new spending or pay raises for anyone - I hope he privately told the union heads to stick it.
I guess I should learn to stop being surprised by the level of some folks' gall.
Do any of these people have any shame?
Thumbs up Joe Manchin!
