Take me out of the ballgame

August 28, 2008 - Jody Murphy
A couple links to pass on today.
The first is from Deadspin regarding Patriotism gone overbaord at Yankee Stadium.
A man claims he was ejected from the stadium after not standing still in the seventh inning during the singing of "God Bless America."
The Yankees have a "no excesive movement policy" and this guy - an admitted Red Sox fan - got up to use the bathroom. So he claims.
He was escorted out of the stadium by two New York's finest.
I'm not entirely sure I believe the guy's story - I'm sure he wasn't totally innocent - but there I bet there is some validity to his claims.

...

Then there's the Bo Pelini's press conference.
Pelini is the new head coach at Nebreaska - replacing craptacular Bill Callahan.
Pelini showed up to his weekley presser wearing a blue - not red - shirt. He was questioned about it by reporters.
"Hey Bo, why aren't you wearing the school colors?"
Pelini asked if he was going to have put with this all season; fans and even sportswriters giving him crap for his attire.
Sportswriters, myself included, aren't exactly Mr. Blackwell when it comes to the fashion department.
There is - I guess - some legitimatcy to the questions. Callahan, once the losses started stacking up, ceased wearing Red in favor of neutral colors to the weekley press conferences.
So long as Pelini wins and restores pride to the Cornhsuker nation - and maybe a few BCS bowl games - he can show up in lederhosen and yodel.
