June is the official start of summer, so I'm kicking off the season with a new book a week that you should be sticking in a beach bag to take on vacation, or just relaxing with in the backyard along with a glass of sweet tea.

Rachel Copeland has come home from Philadelphia to escape her noterity. A former photography student released lurid altered photos of her and when his stalking turned deadly, she killed him in self-defense. Now acquitted, she runs for the comforts of home and to get away from a harrassing female caller, whom she assumes to be a relative of her stalker.

Zeke Pike has his own reasons for keeping people at bay. A confirmed loner, he happens to meet Rachel at her stepmother's diner and can't get her out of his head. The rough carpenter captures the photographer in Rachel, who snaps more than a few pictures of his work - and himself. Soon she's creating a buzz about him with her fabulous photos, but it's his softer side in training horses that captures Rachel's heart.

But it seems someone is stalking Rachel again - from threatening phone calls and notes and gifts. Soon the attention turns deadly and Rachel must take a closer look at the people around her - including Zeke.

A gentle thriller with mystery and a warm heart, this is a great book of second chances and overcoming all for a second chance at love.
