Have you been keeping track of LPGA star Brittany Lincicome?
You know the one; the 22-year-old, long blonde bomber dubbed 'Bam Bam' by her fellow pros.
Lincicome will be in Parkersburg July 7 as the featured pro for the annual Sour Mash event at the Parkersburg Country Club. This will be her third year with the event.
Lincicome was born in Florida, but her parents are from West "By God" Virginia. Her mom, Angie, grew up in Point Pleasant. Her dad, Tom, is from Parkersburg. Lincicome's website lists the News and Sentinel as one of her hometown papers.
I talked to Lincicome Tuesday morning. She's in Pittsford, N.Y., preparing to play in the Wegmans LPGA event this weekend while trying to get ready for the U.S. Open next week.
Lincicome is having a down year, but she thinks things are starting to turn around. We'll have a story on her in Sunday's paper.
At age 22, the cute blonde, who lives with her parents, is single. Though she told me she was looking. I jokingly told her we could put a singles ad on the billboards around town touting her upcoming Sour Mash appearance. She laughed.
Lincicome could be a quite a catch. In her three-year career on the LPGA she's amassed $1.8 million in earnings, not counting endorsements.
She loves to fish (she just bought a 22-foot boat!) and enjoys playing cards. Texas Hold'em is her preference according to her Web site (see the link).
Lincicome said she hasn't found a name for her boat yet. Some of her LPGA friends suggested "Bam Bam" but she's looking for another idea.
I'm sure there are some eligible young West Virginia guys willing to ask out a 22-year-old LPGA golfer.
Averaging almost 271 yards off the tee and having already won two LPGA events, chances are she'd pound you on the golf course. But she might spring for dinner afterward.
