Tall Tales and Wedding Veils

June is the official start of summer, so I'm kicking off the season with a new book a week that you should be sticking in a beach bag to take on vacation, or just relaxing with in the backyard along with a glass of sweet tea.

What happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas in Jane Graves' "Tall Tales and Wedding Veils."

Heather Montgomery is content to lead her staid accountant life, visiting the local bar with a friend on the weekend and doing her duty as bridesmaid to her overbearing cousin. When the bridesmaid duties take her to Vegas, she's ready to follow her gorgeous cousin and her equally gorgeous friends around and be the plain Jane.

But all that changes when she runs into handsome playboy from home Tony McCaffrey in Vegas. Tony is at Vegas trying to win enough money to buy the local bar, and Heather is intrigued and just happened to find a chip. The two turn her found money into enough cash to buy the bar and celebrate... a lot. When the dust settles the next morning, the two wake up extremely hung over and married!

Neither one is happy about the impromptu marriage and go to have it annuled. But as soon as they return home, Heather learns in her stupor she told her family and everyone is waiting to meet her new groom. Feeling indebited to his new friend, Tony makes the suggestion he and Heather pretend to be married for a month and then tell her family and friends it didn't work out when the annulment comes through.

As Heather and Tony find themselves living under one roof and working together at his new bar, they find they may have something in common after all - the beginnings of romance.

A romantic comedy romp, this book has fun, endearing characters and does the plotline better than anything Hollywood's come up with. Graves writes fun, sassy and sharp characters that may be opposites, but definitely attract!
