| | Get out of the wayMay 22, 2008 - Jody MurphyWednesday Gov. Joe Manchin addressed graduates at Parkersburg Catholic. I've been a supporter of Manchin. The man has done a good job as Gov., but his remarks to the Catholic kids bothered me. "Once they move on to make their mark on the world, it will be up to the current generation to find the solutions that will find a balance between the environment and the economy and will find a way to use the resources available in the best possible way." "This will be the generation that makes sure every American will have health care," Manchin said. "They are going to save the world." Is it just me or is Manchin telling us his generation has thrown up their hands and given up trying to solve issues about global warming, health care and rising fuel prices? If that's the case, I recommend he step aside and give someone else a chance to lead. I don't know about you, but I don't want to wait for 15 or 20 years for the next generation to fill the void and fix the nation's problems. If you don't have any ideas and you can't fix - or at least attempt to fix - the problems affecting the state and the nation, you need to step aside and let someone else try.
