Vampires, Love and Slayers

Here is an exclusive review, just to this blog!

Like a bit of paranormal in your romance? Try Robin T. Popp's "Lord of the Night."

Kacie Renault's family was killed by vampires and she almost died in the attack as a child. Her family of hunters, unbeknownst to her, was also protected by a vampire who swore off blood-drinking: Erik Winslow, who saves her life during the attack.

Trained to become a slayer, she and her foster sister learn at the blade of Erik, but when Kacie finds out the truth about her teacher, she freaks out and leaves his protection.

Erik continues to hunt down rogue vampires that drink blood along with his friends, Michael, Sedrick and Ty, also vampires. But when Sedrick turns up dead, it appears there is a new slayer in town. All signs point to Kacie, recently returned to town, but Erik will not let his vampire brothers kill his former protege. Things begin to heat up between he and Kacie, but can Erik be romantically linked to a suspect in his best friend's murder? And if Kacie didn't do it, then who did?

A fun, paranormal treat sure to heat up winter nights, Popp combines mystery and a hint of Buffy in her Night Slayer series. While there's no question that Kacie and Erik will end up together, the trip to get there is a fun ride.

"Lord of the Night is published by Warner Forever, a division of Grand Central Publishing. It is $6.99 and 309 pages long.
