Getting the call wrong

June 7, 2014 - Jay Bennett
Sometimes all one can do is shake their head.

That has to be the case for the softball team from Johnson Central, which was recently eliminated from the Kentucky state softball tournament by Ashland Blazer, 1-0.

First and foremost, I was shocked to see replay video where the outfield fence is nothing more than temporary plastic.

To me, that in and of itself is criminal, but I guess that's the way the Kentucky High School Athletic Association works in the Bluegrass State.

Anyway, I've provided a few links for anyone who would like to see this travesty of injustice moment.

Basically, a girl from Johnson Central smacked a walk-off two-run home run, which somehow was determined by the umpire crew that it bounced over the fence for a ground-rule double.

Of course, that wasn't the case and the Johnson Central coach ended up getting thrown out.

I, for one, sure don't blame him.
