Thankful by Shelley Shepard Gray
May 27, 2014 - Amy Phelps
New York Times and USA Today best selling author Shelley Shepard Gray is back in her Return to Sugarcreek series with "Thankful."
Christina's life was saved by Aden when they were children. She has always loved him but when her parents take him in as thanks for saving her, she fears he sees her as a sister. Secretly, Aden has always loved Christina too, but doesn't want to repay her parents' kindness by "stealing" their daughter. But when it comes time for Christina to court, will the two ever make their feelings known or let them slip away? There is also a story about friends Judith and Ben who have decided to foster a child since they can't have one of their own. The child they take in, Judith is hoping to keep forever, especially since the mother is in jail, but will the rest of the family want him back? Also is a story about Christina's boss, Jana, who is second-guessing continuing to run the restaurant that was her husband's dream, not hers, and is facing a second chance romance. All of the characters are well defined and likable and the reader will enjoy all three storylines in this compelling story. Shepherd Gray blends both Amish and Englisher characters well.
"Thankful" is published by Avon Inspire. It is $12.99 and 231 pages long.
