Snacking Dead Cookbook

Are you a fan of "The Walking Dead?" Want to cook some great snacks for a party or just for at home while watching your favorite television show? Then check out the parody cookbook, "The Snacking Dead" by D.B. Walker.

Part cookbook, part fan-fiction-esque story, this book comes from the creators of another parody cookbook, "50 Shades of Chicken." The story follows a single mom named Pam as she tries to survive the zombie apocalypse, along with her kids. Along the way, they eat plenty of delicious food and meet others, who generally fall to the plague. And Pam has memories of a shy boy she knew back in school named Daryl, who she used to feed and wonders how he is surviving... And then we get to see Daryl's point of view (and it's obviously the character from the show) as he kills and cooks his way through many a sticky situation, wondering about the girl he used to know named Pam...

The recipes are generally snack foods, though there are some meal dishes too, and all have funny names that relate to the television show or just zombies. There's Guac & Loaded Guacamole, Virulently Infectious Butterscotch Chocolate Chippers, Elbows Casserole and Chupacabra Shepherd's Pie.

I made Gutted Mushrooms with Bacon and Spinach for a Halloween party and they were a big hit. The cream cheese, bacon and spinach filling bakes inside mushroom caps, making a delicious individual-sized appetizer. I'm sure Daryl would have enjoyed them!
