More Things in Heaven and Earth
October 21, 2013 - Amy Phelps
A young doctor gets more than he bargained for in a small town in "More Things in Heaven and Earth" by Jeff High.
Arriving in small town Watervalley, Tenn., Luke Bradford is welcomed by the whole town. The problem is he spilled something all over his pants and is now missing them! That's only the beginning of the challenges he faces. There's meeting the town misanthrope - who is holding a shotgun, making nice with his housekeeper who seems to be more his boss than the opposite, constantly putting his foot in his mouth around the attractive schoolteacher, not to mention meeting the town's oldest resident, saving a farmer in front of his daughter, and meeting his strange neighbor child who is always wearing a helmet.
This is a loving and funny look at small town life through the eyes of an outsider that will charm readers.
"More Things in Heaven and Earth" is published by New American Library. It is $15 and 332 pages long.
