It's "Let's go negative" time

January 10, 2012 - Jim Smith
After pledging elsewise, GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich is going negative in his campaign against front-runner Mitt Romney and his fellow candidates.

And, the dethroned former Speaker of the House is making excuses in reneging on his pledge to run a positive, issue-oriented campaign, saying he has to defend himself against negative attacks.

According to the Associated Press, an independent group supporting Romney spent millions of dollars on television ads in Iowa criticizing Gingrich. Supposedly Gingrich believes the attack ads contributed to his dismal fourth-place finish.

The AP believes a similar pro-Gingrich group is planning on spending millions for ads attacking Romney in South Carolina before the primary there.

Yep, you can always tell when candidates get desperate ... that's when the attack dogs start growling, showing teeth and replacing logic with nonsensical, vicious rhetoric with little to no fact to back it up.

If politics wasn't so important, it would be laughable!

I remember when Hillary went after Obama and said he had no experience. She tried the negative ads. I wish she would have won, would done way better than the joke we have in there now.

Interesting comment........... especially seeing as how the past 3 years have been nothing but "nonsensical, vicious rhetoric."

Of all the Republican Candidates Newt Gingrich is the most laughable. The fact that he would even publicly show his face in a campaign is a disgrace to the Republican Party. I know the Republican party has struggled to come up with a viable candidate for 2012. But Newt is not your answer.
