Beverly Elementary names Students of the Month

Beverly-Center Elementary School has named their students ‘Student of the Month’ for January. These students were chosen for going ‘above and beyond’ in demonstrating honesty: Kindergarten — Iziah McNight and Skyla Offenberger; First Grade — Taytum Skinner and Raylan Wickham; Second Grade — Owen Duskey and Haddley Marks; Third Grade — Harrison Miller and Taylor Moore; Fourth Grade — Lucy Baker and Samuel Bricker; Fifth Grade — Wyatt Duskey and Macy Moore; Sixth Grade — Julia Silvus and Jackie Tornes.

G.O.O.D. STUDENTS CHOSEN

The Beverly Lions Club sponsors the G.O.O.D. program, recognizing students that have continually demonstrated GOOD attendance, GOOD listening skills, GOOD work habits, and GOOD citizenship each grading period. Named GOOD students for the second nine weeks grading period were: Fourth Grade — Nina Freeman and Braxton Knoch; Fifth Grade — Cheyenne Smith and Jailynn Smith; Sixth Grade — Katie Coleman and Emma Richards. LITERACY LUAU

Attention all Beverly-Center students and families! Mark your calendars now for Thursday, March 7! The school will be hosting their annual Family Literacy Night at Beverly-Center Elementary from 6- 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 5:45 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The Scholastic Book Fair will be open and various grade level reading exhibits will be featured. Be sure to visit the Sixth Grade International Fair as well. A great family evening is planned, so be sure to mark your calendars now!

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION REMINDER

Anyone in the Fort Frye School District with a child turning 5 years old on or before August 1, 2019 is reminded it’s time to register for the 2019-2020 school year. Registration begins tomorrow, February 25, and continues through Friday, March 1. All registration will be held at the central office in Beverly-Center Elementary School. Parents or guardians may stop in Monday, Thursday, or Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. or Tuesday and Wednesday from noon to 7 p.m. Be sure to bring these documents to register: child’s birth certificate; child’s immunization record; court papers showing custody or guardianship, if necessary; and proof of residency, such as a utility bill or rental agreement identifying physical address. The child does not need to be present for registration. A specific screening time, held at the district school the child will attend, will be scheduled when you come to register your child. LIBRARY PROGRAMS

There’s plenty going on at the Beverly Public Library this week to help kids beat the winter blues. Wednesday, February 27, stop by for Book Buddies from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Stop in and read to either a staff member or a volunteer. Thursday, February 28 from 3:30-5 p.m., students can explore Mel Science Kits during the Science Experiments for Kids program.

Adults are reminded Free Tax help with AARP is available Monday, February 25, from 8-10 a.m. Sing-up is a must, so contact the library at 740-984-4060 for more information.
