Food, fun and music on the Ohio River
Friday nights are meant to be spent dining at local eateries and listening to amazing entertainment on the river in Downtown PKB. That is just what we want to happen on the first Friday of August and September. Our Point Park Concerts on the River carry us away into the summer nights and we look forward to sharing a couple more evenings with you.
With the help of our 2018 Point Park Concerts on the River Title Sponsor, McClinton Mitsubishi, we have been able to bring entertainment to you on the first Friday of each month, June through September. Kicking it off with Sounds of Summer in June and Vegas McGraw in July, we are ready for another night at Point Park with Absolute Queen on Friday, August 3!
Absolute Queen is a fantastic recreation of a Queen concert with note for note guitars and incredible vocal harmonies and all of the hits and bombast to take you back to those huge arena shows! They have performed at large outdoor Amphitheaters and Festivals and top venues.
Lead vocalist Martyn Jenkins performed for years across Europe as Freddie in the show “Night at the Opera” performing for the Queen Fan club and Brian May! He is also the lead singer of famed AC/DC Tribute Highway to Hell and Judas Maiden. All 3 acts are part of a large production called “Best of British”! Expect all of the great hits and Queen Classics that will make you sing along and remember those great concerts of the 70s and 80s.
Our final concert of the summer on September 7th will kick-off with Artsbridge’s final Merchants and Artists Walk from 5 – 7 p.m. Our summer concert series last performance will wrap up with the band “1988.” Due to a private matter, Wanted, Bon Jovi tribute, is unable to perform in September, but has left us in great hands with the awesome 80s songs of 1988.
1988 performs the danceable and head banging “big hair” hits of the 80s. While other groups have chosen to present themselves in a clown-like fashion, 1988 has stayed true to its 80s roots by paying respectful tribute to bands like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Poison, Motley Crue, Guns-N-Roses and even Journey. 1988 recreates a show one might have seen on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip at the height of the 80s metal era. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but we are looking forward to a great evening and wrap up to our 2018 Point Park Concerts on the River.
