Point Park concert seats now on sale
Downtown PKB’s Point Park Concerts on the River kick off Friday, June 1 with Sounds of Summer, a tribute to the Beach Boys. The summer concert series is one of the events that Downtown PKB’s Promotions Committee takes pride in offering to the community as a great way to spend a Friday evening by the river while enjoying some great music.
This summer’s concert series is supported by the proceeds of our popular reserved seating. Reserved seating goes on sale Monday, April 16 at 9 a.m. You can purchase your seats through a variety of ways.
We will be posting a link on our website announcement bar, located at the top of the page, and on our Facebook page. All you have to do is click on the link, fill out the required information and we will do the rest. The reserved seats are being sold for $80 each, which guarantees your seat at our four concerts. At the end of the concert series, those chairs are yours to keep. Our backup rain venue this summer will be the PHS Auditorium.
The Point Park Concert Series is a free-admission concert series located at Point Park in Downtown Parkersburg. Hosted on the first Friday of the month from June through September, the Point Park Concerts draw crowds on both land and water. Although the concert series is free for our community, planning and funding them started at the beginning of the year by Downtown PKB’s concert sub-committee. The concerts wouldn’t be possible without financial support from our main funder, The Ross Foundation, who has graciously provided funding to Downtown PKB to provide tribute band concerts to the community. The 2018 Concert Series has also received support, both in-kind and monetarily, from several businesses to date: McClinton Mitsubishi, Wesbanco, Exit Riverbend Realty, Memorial Health System, United Bank, Chapman Printing, The Blennerhassett Hotel, The City of Parkersburg, and CAS Cable.
New this summer for two of our four concerts will be the return of the Market Street Merchants and Artists Walk, presented by Artsbridge, as a kick off to the concerts. On Friday, June 1st and September 7th from 5 – 7 p.m. businesses and organizations on Market Street will participate in a celebration of art, music, craftsmanship and the growing downtown shopping, dining and business district. Music and both visual and performing arts will be showcased at all participating stops. For more information about the Market Street Merchants and Artists Walk 2018, contact Amanda Stevens at email@example.com. In addition, on Friday, June 1st a community art show called STOPGAG will take place at The Dils Center and will feature both large art pieces and live music. For more information on this event, visit The Dils Center’s Facebook page.
The lineup for the rest of our Point Park Concerts on the River includes: July 6 – Vegas McGraw, a tribute to Tim McGraw; August 3 – Absolute Queen, a Queen tribute experience; and September 7 – Wanted, a tribute to Bon Jovi. Attendees are encouraged to come downtown early and eat dinner at one of our many downtown eateries or visit one of our food vendors set up at the concert along the flood wall.
See you this summer at the Point!
