Truth Seeker: Halloween opportunity

Yes, it is that time of year again, when children and adults dress up as anything from angels to demons; and from cartoon characters to super heroes. Basically anything one’s mind can imagine they will dress up as it. People across the country will spend lots of money for costumes, decorations, food and candy. Yes, Halloween is finally here!

For many, hosting or attending parties will be planned. But for some, searching for the unknown is on their minds. People have already started asking what I have planned or where I will be spending the evening. But much to their surprise I have yet to decide fully on where I will be going on Oct. 31. In the past several years I have always been in such places as historical locations, tunnels or even people’s homes, which are allegedly haunted. However, this year my schedule has filled up pretty fast, but I did keep that weekend open for special events.

First, I will be helping with “An Evening of History at St. Joseph Landing,” to help raise funds for the Relay for Life team that I am a part of. This will allow those interested in the history of St. Joseph to go on a tour and learn about some of the interesting things that have happened there. Even though this is a history tour, just being able to walk the halls of the old part of the hospital gives you an eerie feeling. Who knows what one may see or hear while on the tour? As for Saturday night I will be spending it with friends enjoying the holiday weekend. But for Halloween night, that is a different story. I will be doing what I normally do on this night. Searching for the unknown.

Even though I have not decided where I will be spending my time, I do know I will have recorders going and hopefully capture something out of the ordinary. I have several options to choose from but there is one particular location where I most likely will be spending time. It is at an undisclosed residential house that I have been to before and have caught recordings that I cannot explain. Not only have I received these recordings but I also witnessed a mirror door opening and closing in the bathroom by itself. There have also been reports of audible voices and most recently hearing a woman call for help in the middle of the night. A few nights later a large picture that had been hanging on the wall for some time had fallen in the night breaking the glass in the frame. If the holiday of Halloween has any ability to increase paranormal activity then this is the house I would like to be spending my night. And hopefully, I will have a story or two to share with you next month.

But if you decide to venture out on Halloween weekend for trick or treat or to attend a party or two please be safe and have fun. If you decide to venture out for an adventure seeking out the paranormal be sure to let others know where you are going and have permission to be there.
