Final Lenten service slated for April 5

The final Wednesday night Beverly-Waterford community Lenten service is this Wednesday, April 5 at the Waterford Nazarene Church. Services begin at 7:30 p.m.

This Wednesday’s speaker is Father Bob Kawa.

Next week’s service will be held on Good Friday, April 14, with Rev. Karl Kesselring bringing the evening’s message.



The Beverly-Public Library is holding preschool story time this Wednesday, April 5, from 11 a.m. to noon. This week’s topic is ‘Starfish’! Story Time is open to all children ages 2-5. Children must be accompanied by an adult that will stay with the child throughout the entire story time. Snack and craft are also provided.

Spring has sprung and plans are finalized for the 15th annual Beverly-Waterford Bunny Hop 5K Walk-Run. The warm winter made it easier for everyone to get into walking or running condition, so make your plans now for this fun event before it’s too late. Join your neighbors and friends for a morning of exercise, fun, and door prizes.

The Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, April 15, and on-line registration ends April 8. Packet pick-up and race day registration will be available from 7-8 a.m. at Fort Frye High School in Beverly on race day. Runners will start at 8:30 a.m. and walkers at 8:35 a.m. Start and finish lines are in front of Fort Frye High School in Beverly, Ohio. Electronic timing is being manned by Miles of Smiles Timing Services.

Registration can be completed online at Online registration closes at midnight April 8, 2017. Registration may also be done by mail by sending a completed form, available online at, with a check only — no cash please — payable to “American Legion Auxiliary Unit 389/5k”.

Registration before April 8 is $15 and everyone registering on or before April 8 will be guaranteed a race T-shirt.

Registration may still be submitted after April 8 at a cost of $20, but a limited number of T-shirts will be available. Registered participants will receive a post-race door prize entry ticket.

Proceeds from the Bunny Hop will benefit the Beverly-Waterford Volunteer Fire Department, Emergency Medical Team, and American Legion Auxiliary Community Projects.
