Entrepreneur action team initiative update

You may remember a few weeks ago I wrote about the efforts of the Entrepreneurship Action Team, an initiative overseen by the local Workforce Investment Board. Our team is comprised of representatives from education, local government, economic development, the Chamber, the Small Business Administration and even several small business owners and entrepreneurs who have taken the leap of faith of having an idea or passion and making a business.

Each of these entities has information and provides services to entrepreneurs. So our next step that I mentioned in the June 1 article is to start developing the roadmap of who does what.

And we need your input to develop the best and most comprehensive roadmap.

If you or your organization provides services and support to small businesses/entrepreneurs, we would like for you to provide the following information to our team:

Your Name

Your Organization Name

Your Contact Info (Phone and Email)

1. How does your organization fit into an entrepreneurial support system?

2. From your perspective, what are some of the similar functions/services that each entity can provide?

3. What makes your entity unique? (From a “helping small business” perspective?)

4. Over the course of the next few months, how can all these entities that support entrepreneurs collaborate to provide more dynamic service to the community?

5. What other questions do we need to answer in order to develop a strong entrepreneurial support system?

6. Are you willing to be part of the Entrepreneurship Action Team?

Steve Morgan, chairman of the Business & Economics Division at WVU-Parkersburg is the primary contact for this short survey. Once you complete the short questionnaire, you can mail your responses to:

Steven M. Morgan, CPA, MBA

Or you can email your responses to me here at the Chamber office at info@movchamber.org and I will forward them to Steve. Please designate “Entrepreneurship Survey” in the subject of your email.
