Kindergarten awards announced for year

These 2013-2014 Beverly-Center Elementary School kindergarteners were honored by teacher Mrs. Heidi Fryman at the school’s end of the year awards assembly:

LIBRARY PROGRAMS FINAL WEEK

This is the final week of the summer reading program at the Beverly Public Library. All reading record sheets must be completed and turned in by Saturday. Be sure to visit the library this week to participate in the final week of programs. Monday is the final Family Night at 6 p.m., with food, crafts, games, stories and movies. Summer drawings are planned. Elementary Kids Night is at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The topic is “How’d You Do That?” Wednesday’s final summer Read-to-Me Story Time is at 11 a.m. Learn about “ROYGBIV” through stories, crafts and a snack. An adult must stay with the child during the entire story time. Elementary children are invited back at 1p.m. Thursday for “Blast Off!” Wrapping up the week is “Angry Birds” on Friday at 1 p.m. for students in grades 6-12. Adult readers are reminded to have their 20 hours turned in by Saturday as well.

Everyone completing the required reading goals is reminded of the pool party from 6-8 p.m. July 31. Tickets for the party will be included with the treat bag.

The Saturday Book/Movie Club, which is open to all ages, continues July 26. This month’s book is “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.” The discussion begins at noon with snack provided. Copies of the book are available near the circulation desk.
