Great Bowls of Fire Chili Cookoff coming

When does 69 degrees + 38x + 500y + 19,000xy + 3 + 6 = 100 percent?

I know you’re thinking you’d never have to use algebra again after high school, or possibly you’re thinking this is some crazy math concocted by a government agency.

But when does 69 degrees + 38x + 500y + 19,000xy + 3 + 6 = 100 percent?

Only on Saturday, Oct. 12 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Great Bowls of Fire Chili Cookoff at Point Park does this equation hold true.

Let’s see if the math makes more sense like this:

* A beautiful sunny forecast with a high of 69, according to The Weather Channel.

* A total of 38 entrants who are making delicious chili for you to taste.

* A goal attendance of at least 500 people attending to try all this chili.

* We will need 19,000 spoons and bowls (500 people X 38 chili entrants)

* 3 hours of entertainment from the band Hit Parade

* 6 judges will award the Judge’s First Place winner at the end of the event.

* = 100 percent chance of fun, a successful event and a full belly!

Who’s making all this great chili for me to try?

Not only will the judges panel pick a first-place winner, you also get to vote. Each attendee will receive a Peoples Choice voting ticket. Drop your ticket at your favorite chili entrant and put them in the running for the $250 Peoples Choice award!
