Art show winners named

BEVERLY – These students were named winners in the annual Fort Frye High School art show. Fort Frye High School art teacher is Kathy Allen-Bidwell. Winner of “Best of Show” was Koda Kell for an illustration of boots in chalk pastel.

THIS WEEK AT THE LIBRARY

Head in to the Beverly Public Library for this week’s summer reading programs. Monday is Family Night from 5:30-7:30 p.m., with food, crafts, movies, stories, games and a weekly drawing for participating families. This week – painting with root vegetables.

Tuesday is for everyone, with public speakers at 1 p.m. Oliver Tucker is the featured topic for this week’s meeting.

Pre-readers get their turn Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. for Read-to-Me Story time. Crafts and snack will be provided. This week will feature gemstones. Please remember there must be an adult to stay with the child throughout the program.

School-aged children in grades 1-5 are encouraged to come to the library at 1 p.m. on Thursday for “Crystal Treats”.

Teens, Friday is for you. This week at 1 p.m. stop by the library for “Jeopardy” as you “Dig beneath the surface”.

Everyone, adults included, is reminded to keep up with their reading challenges. Reading sheets are due by July 20.
