On April 30, the Life Line Screening unit will be at the Beverly United Methodist church to conduct health screenings. Life Line Screening uses painless ultrasound to see the plaque build-up in the arteries – a leading cause of stroke. According to the National Stroke Association, 80 percent of strokes can be prevented. Five different screening can be conducted at the event: Stroke/carotid artery screening, heart rhythm screening (atrial fibrillation), abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, peripheral arterial disease screening and osteoporosis risk assessment. Each vascular assessment is $60, with all five screenings costing $159. Screening results are provided to you in 21 days. All participants with abnormal results are directed to take the report to their physician. Appropriate modification of stroke risk factors is also necessary for stroke prevention and the Life Line screenings cannot detect all forms of stroke. All tests are for screening purposes only. Consult with your personal physician regarding your screening results.
Life Line Screening does not participate in the Medicare program and the cost of the screening services is not covered or reimbursable by Medicare. Life Line Screening does not file insurance claims nor provide referrals to any physician’s group or hospital.
Preregistration is required. Call 1-800-324-1851 to register. The priority code HSC 3132. To register on-line, go to www.lifelinescreening.com/community-partners.
