Final Lenten service planned

The final weekly Lenten service, sponsored by the Beverly-Waterford Ministerial Association, is scheduled for March 29, Good Friday, at 7:30 p.m.

This week’s service will be held at the Beverly United Methodist Church, 700 Park St., in Beverly. Featured speaker is Russell White from the Waterford Methodist Church.

The interdenominational service is open to all community members.



The Beverly Public Library is getting ready for a busy spring and summer season.

Every Monday from 9:30 a.m-1:30 p.m. AARP is offering free tax help. Sign-up for these sessions is a must. Contact the library at 984-4060 for an appointment.

Poison Control for Elementary Children is planned for 4 p.m. March 25.

Mark your calendar now for two big events coming in April.

“Behind the Scenes of the Library” is planned for April 17 at 5 p.m. Come and see what makes the library “tick.” The program will be followed by a question-and-answer period and an Italian dinner.

April’s book discussion is April 20. Stop into the library for next month’s book title and to check out a copy to read.

Students, there is a contest starting for those interested in designing a poster for the summer reading program. Stop into the library for more details about the contest.




The Beverly United Methodist Preschool is taking registrations for the 2013-2014 school year. Anyone interested in sending their child or knowing someone who is interested is asked to stop by the church office to pick up a registration form or contact teacher Jodi Leach at (740) 336-4230.
