Food giveaway slated

Food giveaway will be held 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Christ. Taxable items for those in need will be given at 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. Monday at the Pennsville United Methodist Church.

Pennsville Volunteer Fire Department will meet at 8 p.m. Monday.

Mary Yerian received word from Candi Hill there will be a memorial service at Saint Luke’s Church in Florida on Jan. 19 for Gene (Grimes) Hill.

Mary Yerian received word a friend of hers she went to school with had passed away Wednesday. Her name was Naomi Shepard Carpenter of Pleasantville, Ohio. Her funeral was held on Friday. They attended school at Homer Union High School.

Thursday visitor at the home of Mary Yerian was Patsy Handa of Glouster.

Delores North of Glouster recently fell and broke her pelvic bone. She is in the hospital at Nelsonville. She is Kenny Yerian’s mother-in-law.

Mary Yerian received word she has a new great-granddaughter. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jonathon Yerian of Delaware. The new baby’s name is Elizabeth Ellen, and she weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces and was born on Jan. 4. She has a brother, Joey, and a sister, Ann Marie. Mae Milhoan is her great-great-aunt. On Saturday, Bev and Rob Sidwell attended a basketball game at Ohio University. On the way home, they stopped at Maplewood Cemetery at Bob Milhoan’s grave.
