Food drive success

On Saturday, Dec. 9 students and staff of Escape Student Ministries (Liberty Street Church) partnered with students and staff of E2 (North Parkersburg Baptist Church) to host a multisite food drive to benefit the food pantries at Vandy and Hamilton middle schools. During a period of about 5 hours, more than twenty 18-gallon totes were filled with nonperishable food items. The totes were delivered to the schools and unpacked into the food pantries with the help of some fantastic middle school students.

Everyone involved was blown away by the generosity of those out shopping on Dec. 9. Some folks walked out of the store with one box of mac and cheese for us, others came bearing several bags filled with ramen noodles and ravioli. Every single item. was tremendously appreciated and will benefit the kids in our community more than you could ever imagine.

Thanks for helping us, help schools, help kids!
