Falseness and hypocrisy

An Oct. 8 letter took a cheap shot at the liberal media, raising two questions.

1) Why is it when there is a bombing we blame the bomber, but when there is a shooting, we blame the gun?

2) If Trump is a fascist because he did not specifically call out fascism for censure after the recent skinhead riot, why then is not Obama a radical Muslim fanatic because he did not even acknowledge the existence of such creatures?

Though infantile, these questions beg a response. I challenge the writer to a) present one instance where liberals have ever accused a gun of murder, and b) show evidence of a gun ever being prosecuted for murder. The question is not only ludicrous but is falsely presented — a common practice among conservatives.

The second question requires a nanosecond of thought, something most conservatives seemingly are incapable of. I know a “thinking” president seems foreign to us now, but Obama didn’t want to further inflame the mid east by sticking all Muslims with an undeserved label perpetrated by a tiny, tiny minority.

When people march under the Nazi flag, while giving the Nazi salute, there can be no doubt where their sentiments lie. There should be no equivocation on Trump’s part in referring to them as fascists.

Trump finds fault with a sports figure who kneels during the National Anthem — claiming it’s disrespectful of our flag. Yet, not a single word of complaint about the Russians interfering with our national election. The Russians showed disrespect for our entire Constitutional process. The first example is one person (income immaterial) or small group exercising their Constitutional right to protest in favor of social justice. The second example is criminal contempt for, and interference in, our election process by a foreign power. Only Donald Trump is dumb enough to rank the first example as more important than the second. He and Pence — the ultimate hypocrites!
