Be light in a dark world

There is a lot of evil and darkness in the world today. It is hard to not feel anger when some group or individuals cause mayhem, destruction, and possibly injury or death. How are we supposed to talk to these people when hate or resentment drive their existence.

Growing up in the 60s and 70s, there were protests, and gatherings, supporting different ideas or causes. Most of them were peaceful and did not result in destructive outcomes. There were however fringe groups that engaged in volatile behavior. Most of those lost favor by the vast majority of people.

Today I fear that group-think is being driven and nurtured by social media that provides an outlet for instant gratification, and or dissatisfaction.

Violence, destruction of personal or private property, disruption of public thoroughfares, and harmful acts toward others, should not be tolerated. The “Freedom of Speech,” and “Peaceful Assembly,” are rights granted in The United States of America, not unlawful misbehavior!

Try to promote rational discussion rather than constant friction toward others. Be a true beacon of light, truth, and justice, not fuel for the fire of destruction.
